In approximately an hour and a half Apple will open to what will be undoubtedly the most anticipated Apple event since the iPhone launch in June of ’07.
The interwebs have been humming for the past few months about Apple’s newest creation, with everyone pretty much guaranteed an Apple tablet announcement, the humming has become a loud roar. Almost every major outlet is hosting some form of live media event coverage (links below) and twitter is doing its usual job of echoing everyones palpable excitement. However with all this excitement what are we likely to actually see?
In the CNBC interview with McGraw-Hill CEO, Terry McGraw, said “[its] very exciting, we have worked with Apple for quite a while; the tablet is going to be based on the iPhone operating system and so it will be ‘transferable’ [...] we have a consortium of e-books, we have 95% of our material in e-book format [...] so now with the tablet your going to open up the higher education market..”
Essentially what we can make from this (planned?) leak just before Steve Jobs makes the announcement everyone’s on the edges of their seats for, is that the Apple Tablet will likely come with an ebook reader out of the box, and it would not at all be surprising to expect that iTunes begins carrying textbooks and/or ebooks specifically for the device.
We will be bringing you more as and when it comes.
