First thoughts on the Apple Event 2010

Well it’s over, the hype and all blown out of proportion news has finally descended into a beautiful iPad. Buw how do I personally feel about all this spectre?

Theres no denying the iPad is beautiful, and has some GREAT ideas and potential, but, as far as the OS goes I’m a little perturbed to see that not only do I still have to swipe and scroll rather than go into folders, plus not only that the applications are arranged with what looks like a 1 inch gap.

A 1 ghz processor and up to 64gb of storage put’s it in line with being a giant iPhone as well as having a huge screen for being an eReader with iBook. I love it already, I’m happy with it, but as far as the rest of the event goes, I’m really underwhelmed.

Ok, I guess I’m asking for too much, but what, all of it on the iPad? No news on the iPhone or Macbook lineup? What about the iMac or Mac Pro? The Mac Pro is in dire need of a refresh. The iPhone on the other hand is what scares me even more. There are literally thousands of people out there with the iPhone 3G who are waiting to upgrade their phones, and now was the perfect time for Apple to update this, didn’t we want 802.11n ?

Still, the iPad does look impressive, and does look brilliant, suffice to say I think I’ll be getting one!
