About

Sometime in 2008, Apptacious was started by two pioneering individuals, Shawn Osborne and Henry D’Andrea. Soon after Shawn Osborne took the lead in developing the community and staff base as Henry focused on other projects. Their aim initially to start an iPhone review site, focusing purely on the rapidly expanding market that came with the iPhone and iPod Touch. These reviews would be fair, unbiased and detailed in every way they could be to give the readers an honest writeup.

These are the same values that we follow today.

In 2009 Shawn and Henry hired me, Mark. Originally I started out as a reviewer but soon moved on to rebuilding the fast declining website which was bloated, overloaded, and slow. From there it went in leaps to re-hosting the website, setting up a reviewer email system and so on.

After a while, it became clear that Shawns personal commitments did not leave him enough time to continue running apptacious, and so I purchased the website and brought it onto my own server and rebuilt some of the back end.

Above all, I want to keep the same intentions, good, honest and unbiased reviews. However I also want to include news updates, people posting their thoughts on the Mac world and indeed apps that run on the Mac as well. So apptacious has again expanded.

We are all still finding our feet, still breathing in and looking at what’s ahead so progress is slow right now. But we have a great team, and that’s what we really want. We want more people to join us, not only to help us grow, but also to provide insight.

That’s why the doors are open, to anyone who wants to apply. Just email mark@apptacious.com . We’ll ask you a few questions, just to get a feel for you, and then the doors are open, the floodgates are up and you’re free to post your app reviews, your feedback and thoughts and more. In return you’ll get to join a small, but great team thats forever expanding. You’ll also from time to time get free apps worth a fair bit. Of course we ask that you review them, but they are yours to keep.

Apptacious is growing, and we need you to be a part of it. So welcome, one and all. In a while the page will be updated, and you can meet the team in the notes below.

For now, thanks for reading, and even if you don’t comment, join or anything else, at least we know you’re there, supporting us. It means a great deal.
Mark
Apptacious CEO, CTO
